Brain Waves
Brain waves are electrical impulses in the brain. An individual’s behavior, emotions and thoughts, communicate between neurons in the brain. All brain waves are generated by synchronized electrical impulses from masses of neurons that communicate with each other. Brain waves occur in different frequencies. Some are fast and some are slow. The classic names for these EEG patterns are Delta, Theta, Alpha, Beta, and Gamma. These brain waves are measured in cycles per second, or Hertz (Hz).
Each brainwave is designed to help us cope with different situations, either to help us process and learn new information or to calm us down after pressures of the day.
